Dear Parents,Monday is School Picture Day! Pictures will take place at all campus locations on Monday, September 11, 2023.

Good afternoon, STEM Families! STUDENT CHROMEBOOK DEVICES ARE READY FOR DISTRIBUTION-GRADES 3-12! 1. Navigate to our school website. 2. Set up your webstore account for your family (one account per family). 3. Pay your non-refundable insurance fee ($20.00 for child 1, $10.00 for each additional child, but no more than $50.00 for families of more than four children). 4. Complete the technology agreement form (already built into the webstore). 5. Once fees are paid, the chromebook devices will be issued to your child. (Grades 3-12) Stay tuned for regular updates related to the webstore on our school's social media channels and newsletters. We encourage you to share your positive experiences with using the webstore and help us spread the word among our school community. If you have any questions or need assistance, our dedicated support team is ready to help! Reminder to Manara Families that there is no school on Tuesday, September 5th as this is a day of professional development for teachers. School will resume on Wednesday, September 6th.

Please read in the newsletter this week information about our upcoming Curriculum Events on Sept 13 for grades Pre-K - 3 and on Sept 14 for grades 4 - 8. Our fall pictures (in uniform!) will be Monday, Sept 11 (information will be sent home this week on how to order photos), and our Scholastic Book Fair will take place the entire week of Sept 11. Welcome Mr. Youssef! Mr. Emad Youssef holds a Master’s degree in TESOL from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Cairo University, Egypt. Mr. Emad Youssef holds professional educator certifications in School Principal (EC-12), EC-4 Generalist, 4-8 ESL Generalist, and LOTE Arabic (EC-12) Mr. Emad Youssef has served many school districts; Dallas ISD for 12 years as ESL Head Department, LPAC Chair, ELAR 6-8, and ESL 6-8 grades. He has worked at Harmony Public Schools for three years as the ESL Campus Coordinator and at Irving ISD as a Bilingual/ESL instructional coach for three years. For the Last Two Years, Mr. Emad Youssef has worked at A+ Academy Elementary as the Assistant Principal. Mr. Emad Youssef is a dedicated lifelong learner and is excited to join the Manara Academy Team on August 22, 2023, as Assistant Principal. His vision is to serve The Manara Academy Family by establishing trust and relationships with all Stakeholders.

Manara Academy wishes to introduce Ms. Nadine Clark as our new Director of HR. She has over 15 years of experience working in Human Resources. Her career in Human Resources begin in the trucking industry, however, then transitioned her HR talents to work in higher Ed for 10 years at the university level and was later recruited to support schools in 2017. She has a Masters Degree in Human Resources Management from Ottawa University. Ms. Clark is excited to serve as Manara's new Human Resources Director and has a desire to recruit and retain the best for our school community! Welcome Ms. Clark!

Good morning Manara STEM Families, Thank you for taking the time to read all the information within our STEM Connect Family Newsletter (link below). This Thursday afternoon will be our first Family Fun Event from 4:00pm-5:30pm on campus! Nachos and snacks will be sold by the PTO during this time, so bring cash to purchase some tasty treats! We are looking forward to our fun event after school with you and your scholar! The planners for scholars in grades 3-8 are available for purchase ($5.00 cash) at the front office. Planners are required for the scholars in those grades, and we all are using the same one as a district. Each scholar in grades 3-8 is expected to have one purchased by Wednesday of next week. Money can be sent in with your scholar and they can purchase it at the designated time during the school day. Please read inside the newsletter about the importance of school attendance, as well as carline safety. We value the time spent with your scholar and look forward to educating them each day! Good morning, Manara STEM families, Great news! Planners can now be purchased for $5.00 cash for scholars in grades 3-8. You can send in the $5.00 cash with your scholar tomorrow or Monday so they can begin utilizing them each day! I apologize for the delay in the sales, as we were trying to get a digital "card" access for payment, but it will not be available yet. Once the scholar has paid the $5.00 cash, a receipt will be given, along with the planner. Reach out if you have any questions! #MAWAY

Good afternoon Manara STEM Families, What a great first week of school last week! Please help me welcome a few new staff members for this school year! Ms. Ensaf is teaching Pre-K 3, Mr. Cravey is teaching 4th & 5th grade Math & Science, and Coach Smith is teaching PE. Within the newsletter is their contact information, as well as all our staff contact information. We are happy to welcome the new faces to our fantastic team! Tomorrow morning from 8:15am until 9:15am there will be a "Visit with Vinten" time at the school. During this time you can come to learn more about plans for this school year, ask questions you may have, and share in some fellowship time with other parents and get to know our STEM community! It will be an informal meeting to visit with each other. I look forward to seeing all who are able to attend during this time! If you cannot attend, another Visit with Vinten meeting time will be set up in October. My door is always open, and I appreciate the open lines of communication! Good afternoon, Manara STEM families! This is a friendly reminder that each Friday we dismiss at 1:00pm, so we look forward to seeing you promptly at 1:00pm tomorrow! Each Friday is professional learning time for our teachers, so we appreciate your help in picking up your scholar(s) on time! Also, we will not begin dress down Friday days until Friday, September 1. As a reminder, all scholars should be in solid navy or solid gray polo shirts with the Manara logo, and if you are waiting for your ordered shirt to arrive, please send your child in a solid navy or solid gray shirt. Good afternoon, STEM families! What a wonderful first day of the 2023-2024 school year! Seeing all the excitement on each scholars face, each teachers face, and the hum of the activity throughout the building was a joy to witness today! Thank you for your patience in carline this afternoon! It will continue to go smoothly as the weeks progress. As a reminder, carline begins in the morning at 7:35am and will go until 8:00am. A scholar will be counted as tardy if they arrive after 8:00am, so it is extremely important to get to school on time to create great habits! I'm so very proud to be a part of the STEM community!
