Arlington STEM Academy PreK3 - 8th

Good afternoon, Manara STEM families! Tomorrow, May 23, will be field day for all students on our campus. Students do NOT have to wear uniform tomorrow and will be given their field day t-shirt upon arrival . Students must also wear tennis shoes, as some of the activities will entail active movement, so tennis shoes are a must. All students will be given a hot dog (halal) lunch with chips, cookies, water, and a snow cone treat during the event. The activities start at 8:30am, with a lunch & movie break from 11:30-1:30, and activities will conclude by 3:20pm. Due to the possibility of rain tomorrow, all activities for students in grades PK3 through 3rd grade will be moved indoors, and all afternoon activites for 4th - 8th grade will be indoors (if weather allows, a few activites for the upper grades will be outside). Parents are welcome to attend and can travel with their child to their designated field day stations. If attending, please come in through the front entrance with your ID and you will be Raptored into our system and given your sticker. Good Afternoon, Manara STEM Families, It was wonderful to see everyone at our last Family Fun Cultural Event this past Tuesday! We had over 100 families attending, with a FULL parking lot!! Thank you for coming and celebrating the many cultures, foods, and festivities. It was a beautiful event! There are only two more weeks left in the 2023-2024 school year! Mental Health 101

Good morning, Manara STEM families! This afternoon is our last Family Fun Event - Cultures Around the World - from 4pm until 6pm. Please plan on attending to "travel" to all the beautiful places where students have created projects featuring cultures such as Moroco, Portugal, Australia, Italy, Brazil, Mexico, and many more! Also, if you have a cultural food dish you would like to bring to share, please bring it to the cafeteria by 4:30pm. Enjoy projects, cultural food, and a fashion show featuring students wearing clothing from their countries. And remember, Arlington Charities will also be here, so sign up (if you have not already done so) to receive your free groceries! We look forward to seeing you this afternoon!

Good Morning, Manara STEM Families, This week we have our final Family Fun Event - Cultural Night! Please come join us on Tuesday, May 14 from 4pm-6pm to enjoy this event! Good Afternoon, Manara STEM Families, STAAR testing is now completed! Thank you for all your support with helping our testing season to be great! This week is Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week! A big thank you to our PTO for helping to organize some "sweet" days to come this week for our teachers & staff. Please read inside the newsletter as to how you can help to celebrate your scholar's teachers, as they deserve great recognition! The PTO is getting items together to provide lunch for the teachers and staff on Wednesday, May 8, so if you would like to donate any food items, please see within the newsletter the sign-up link on ways to participate. We love our STEM teachers and staff! Also this week is our Arabic Storytelling Competition! Good Afternoon, Manara STEM Families, This past week, our 5th & 8th grade students took the STAAR test in Science and 8th grade took the STAAR test in Social Studies. This week is our last week of STAAR testing, with 3rd through 5th grade scholars taking the Math STAAR on Tuesday (April 30) and 6th through 8th grade taking the Math STAAR on Wednesday (May 1). I am so very proud of all of our scholars and the testing focus they have dedicated towards the STAAR tests. They are doing a great job showing their knowledge, working hard, and being great scholars! The campus will be closed to visitors on our remaining testing days, so please call Ms. Tabatha if you have any questions or need assistance. Thank you for making sure they are prepared to test on their testing days (charged chromebooks brought to school) and for bringing them to school on time each day (by 8:00am). Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6-10. The PTO has been working hard coming up with a fun-filled themed week to celebrate our wonderful teachers! They need your help! Dear Manara Academy Parents, We are delighted to extend our warmest greetings to you as we introduce the upcoming Free Summer Learning Camp at Manara Academy, where academic enrichment converges with enjoyable and engaging activities! Our program has been meticulously crafted to offer your child a comprehensive experience, striking a balance between academic advancement and enriching activities. At ADSY, we recognize the significance of maintaining a harmonious blend of learning and enjoyment during the summer break. Hence, our camp is structured to provide 3 hours of dedicated academics and 3 hours of engaging enrichment activities every weekday, spanning a duration of 4 weeks. This structured approach ensures that your child continues to progress and thrive, all while relishing a fulfilling experience. Good Afternoon, Manara STEM Families, Our last 6 week period of the 2023-2024 school year is upon us and STAAR testing is here! This week, 3rd-8th grade students will be taking their Reading STAAR on Tuesday (April 16) and Wednesday (April 17). Next week, 5th & 8th grade will be taking their Science STAAR on Tuesday (April 23) and 8th grade will be taking their Social Studies STAAR on Wednesday (April 24). The following week 3rd-8th grade students will be taking their Math STAAR tests on Tuesday (April 30) and Wednesday (May 1). The campus will be closed to visitors on those days, so please call Ms. Tabatha if you have any questions or need assistance. Please make sure your scholar arrives to school on time (by 8:00am), as when arriving late, they miss important beginning of the day lessons. It is most important on the STAAR testing days that scholars are in their classrooms by 8:00am, as missing testing directions can affect the testing environment.
