May is Mental Health Awareness Month!

Good Afternoon, Manara STEM Families, This past week, our 5th & 8th grade students took the STAAR test in Science and 8th grade took the STAAR test in Social Studies. This week is our last week of STAAR testing, with 3rd through 5th grade scholars taking the Math STAAR on Tuesday (April 30) and 6th through 8th grade taking the Math STAAR on Wednesday (May 1). I am so very proud of all of our scholars and the testing focus they have dedicated towards the STAAR tests. They are doing a great job showing their knowledge, working hard, and being great scholars! The campus will be closed to visitors on our remaining testing days, so please call Ms. Tabatha if you have any questions or need assistance. Thank you for making sure they are prepared to test on their testing days (charged chromebooks brought to school) and for bringing them to school on time each day (by 8:00am). Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6-10. The PTO has been working hard coming up with a fun-filled themed week to celebrate our wonderful teachers! They need your help! Dear Manara Academy Parents, We are delighted to extend our warmest greetings to you as we introduce the upcoming Free Summer Learning Camp at Manara Academy, where academic enrichment converges with enjoyable and engaging activities! Our program has been meticulously crafted to offer your child a comprehensive experience, striking a balance between academic advancement and enriching activities. At ADSY, we recognize the significance of maintaining a harmonious blend of learning and enjoyment during the summer break. Hence, our camp is structured to provide 3 hours of dedicated academics and 3 hours of engaging enrichment activities every weekday, spanning a duration of 4 weeks. This structured approach ensures that your child continues to progress and thrive, all while relishing a fulfilling experience. Program Details: Duration: June 3rd - June 28th, 2024 Participants: Students from PREK-4 to 5th grade Timing: 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday to Thursday (Class Activities), Friday (Field Trips to Perot Museum, UTA Planetarium, Dallas Aquarium, and Hawaiian Falls) Meals: Breakfast and Lunch will be provided. Transportation: Please note that transportation services will not be provided. Parents are kindly requested to drop off and pick up their children from the school premises. Theme: "Diving into The B.L.U.E." This year's program theme, "Diving into The B.L.U.E.", encapsulates the essence of believing, leading, uniting, and excelling. We are excited to inform that the 5K-Run for Gaza has been rescheduled to Sunday, May 5, 2024. Good Afternoon, Manara STEM Families, Our last 6 week period of the 2023-2024 school year is upon us and STAAR testing is here! This week, 3rd-8th grade students will be taking their Reading STAAR on Tuesday (April 16) and Wednesday (April 17). Next week, 5th & 8th grade will be taking their Science STAAR on Tuesday (April 23) and 8th grade will be taking their Social Studies STAAR on Wednesday (April 24). The following week 3rd-8th grade students will be taking their Math STAAR tests on Tuesday (April 30) and Wednesday (May 1). The campus will be closed to visitors on those days, so please call Ms. Tabatha if you have any questions or need assistance. Please make sure your scholar arrives to school on time (by 8:00am), as when arriving late, they miss important beginning of the day lessons. It is most important on the STAAR testing days that scholars are in their classrooms by 8:00am, as missing testing directions can affect the testing environment. Autism Awareness Day!

At the conclusion of the newsletter in the "Upcoming Events" section, dates are added through the end of the school year for important events. Please fill out and return the "Parent Permission" form to your scholar's teacher by April 5. If you would like to chaperone, please fill out the packet that your scholar will also bring home today and attach a copy of your driver's license to the form so we can complete the volunteer background check. The payment for the field study is ONLINE ONLY, so please refer to the note coming home today as to how to proceed with the payment.
