Happy Friday Manara STEM Families,
This week TELPAS testing will continue for our ESL/EB students in grades 2-8 in the areas of Listening & Speaking. All ESL/EB students have access to Summit K-12 to practice, which mimics the TELPAS testing platform, which can also be practiced at home. Reach out to your child's teacher as to how you can help with the practice from home!
Parents of scholars in grades 3-8, would you like a platform where your child can practice more activities in reading, writing, or math? Read within the newsletter a contest through the month of March that our Paper app is hosting (scholars have access through Clever). With completing "Paper Three-Pointers" scholars can be entered to win amazing prizes as well! What a great opportunity for fun AND learning!
We look forward to seeing everyone at our Family Fun Event on Tuesday afternoon. Please make sure to fill out the link within the newsletter regarding getting FREE groceries from Arlington Charities, as they will be here with their Mobile Food Pantry full of fresh produce and other food items. Please reach out if you need any assistance in filling out the link!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Good Morning Manara STEM Families,
This past week you may have received an email or voice message from the district regarding truancy. Truancy messages will be sent out to parents every two weeks on Fridays at 4:00 p.m. through our automated system as students meet the truancy threshold. When a student arrives after 8:00am or is picked up before 3:30pm on any day, this could count as truancy. Please watch the "Attendance Matters" video within the newsletter to futher explain the importance of daily attendance.
This week we have TELPAS testing for our ESL/EB students in grades 2-8. All ESL/EB students have access to Summit K-12 to practice, which mimics the TELPAS testing platform, which can also be practiced at home. Reach out to your child's teacher as to how you can help with the practice from home!
Report cards will go home on Monday, February 26, along with STAAR Interim results for grades 3 - 8. And don't forget the new link is up within manaraacademy.org to pay for the new 6-week Friday dress down days. If your child is participating in non-uniform days each Friday, a payment will need to be made on the online website.
Enjoy the beautiful weekend, and look for the Full Snow Moon tonight in the beautiful clear sky!

Now Enrolling for the 2024 School Year

Good Morning Manara STEM Families,
This week is the last week in our 4th 6 week period. There are a lot of things going on this week, such as STAAR Interim for scholars in grades 3 - 8 for math and reading, Friendship Day, and completing final grades for the end of the 4th 6 week period. Our campus will be closed to visitors on Tuesday, February 13 and Thursday, February 15 for our STAAR Interim testing so we can create a quiet, secure testing environment with as little disruptions as possible. Parents will not be allowed in the building on these days, so if you have items you need to drop off to your child, please place the item(s) on the "Forget-Me-Not" table by the front entrance labeled with your child's name and grade level and Ms. Tabatha will make sure to get it to your child. Also, please make sure your child is ON TIME to school, as testing will begin first thing in the morning! Reach out to Ms. Tabatha if you have any questions pertaining to the closed campus to visitors on these days.
And don't forget...Cookie Grams are on sale through Tuesday, February 13! Cookie Gram deliveries will take place on Wednesday afternoon. See the newsletter for more details!
Happy Sunday! We look forward to seeing everyone by 8:00am tomorrow morning!

Good afternoon 8th grade STEM families! Dr. Wilshire, the principal of the Manara Leadership Campus, and Ms. Floyd, the District counselor, is currently on our campus today, February 9th until 4:00pm to talk with you and your rising 9th grade student about activities and classes your scholar will be able to take part in next year at the Leadership Campus. We're gauging interest from our families for a bus for our 9th through 12th grade students that would be able to take your child daily to the Irving location from our STEM campus and back to our STEM campus. This is a great time to ask questions and get information if you are interested in your child attending high school at Manara. If you cannot make it today, let me know and I'm happy to set up another time for you to meet with Dr. Wilshire to ask questions.
Thank you! Principal Vinten
